Our History
The League of Women of Voters of the Roanoke Valley became a presence in the community in 2017 and was recognized by the League of Women Voters of the United States as a Local League in January 2019. While the LWV-US has many positions that allow for a broad spectrum of political advocacy opportunities, the LWV-RV began by focusing its efforts on matters directly related to voting; voter education, voter registration, and redistricting. As the local league grows, so will the ability to be active with a larger variety of positions.
